"I believe if it’s not being used someone else will make use of it "

I am a mum to 4 children and i always believe if we are not going to use or play with it there maybe someone else in the world who may need one or use it and that’s what i teach my children if you are finished playing with it and you think another child could get happiness from playing with it then let’s pass it on.

"One man's trash is another man's treasure!"

We live in a throw away society and I like the thought that items on freegle get another chance instead of going to landfill :o) Also, it's a way to find things that have gone out of production that perhaps have got broken or worn out.

"Avoiding tip!"

I would rather items I no longer use or want, can go to someone else to enjoy. Hopefully the Animal Hospital sets I put on here, are now being enjoyed by children, instead of being stored in a cupboard.

"Why Freegle is the best option....."

Of course, recycling at the tip is better than landfill but.... Freegling is better than recycling at the tip. For example, if you take something to the tip, they will strip it down for any 'good stuff' ie gold from electronic boards etc. If you Freegle it, you are recycling/reusing the whole thing, so much better. I've given loads over the years, got loads and met some very nice people. Of course, there's the occasional person that asks then ghosts you which is irritating, but that's not very often, so all good.

"Turning Trash into Cash (for a good cause)" 1

About two years ago I aske for Unwanted broken mobile phones for an Art project that I was working on and to my suprise I was offered 12 or so unwanted/broken mobile phones, So I decided to exten my project and make some money for the local MK branch of Samaritans. I took apart the mobile phones and set them into deep frames using hot glue, which looked really good, I then put them up for sale just before Christmas and I sold all but one, (I kept that for my project), I raised over £200 which I gave to the charity.

"Why should good things go to waste?" 2

I hate the idea of throwing things away that someone else could enjoy and get good use out of it. I've freegled a few things and have always been pleased to hand things over.

"My Freegle story" 1

I'm Rebecca and I live in Kempston. I hate the waste we produce in this country and love being able to pass something on to someone else when I've finished with it. I work in a charity shop and any stuff we can't sell or are restricted because of regulations I put on freegle and am so pleased they have escaped the tip. I've passed on more than 100 items and will keep going.

"Reducing waste" 2

I hate to throw anything out that may still have some use. I re-use as much as I can but if things can have a life elsewhere I'm happy to hand them over.

"Freegled 2 items and collected one." 1

I have found a home for a dishwasher and also a 44+ years old reel to reel tape recorder. It has been in a cupboard and never used so I put it on Freegle and had 10 replies within 2 days. I never want to take anything someone else could use to the dump. I have been to Chesham from St Giles to collect a pin board for little notices which I lose if put on my desk. So useful to me and of no use to the previous owner. I have lots to give away so will keep using Freegle. It is brilliant.

"Because of downsizing had somethings I needed to remove, was told about this site and liked the idea of rehoming! My first offer was swiftlt"

Two single bed bases and headboards then a 3 month old large fridge freezer. After I offered the bases I felt so pleased that the people who had them were so grateful, and I was happy to share! I had never heard of Freegle before till some one mentioned them to me when I needed to let go of some of my things! The whole process was so rewarding and easy!

"Much better than taking things to the tip."

I have given so many things on freegle. An aerial, an iron, garden plants, a dining set, furniture. I like to see things go to new homes and not be wasted. I have received several things on freegle too. A lovely slow cooker was one thing.

"I love to recycle! "

I have posted a number of items on here and a few have been taken. It’s great to help others and not contribute to land fill. I need to look for some items next to re use myself and contribute that way also! Keep recycling I say! We have enough material items.

"Nothing is rubbish it's just not stuff I need any more" 2

I love the fact I can post something I no longer want or need and someone else wants or needs it. I'm keeping things out of landfill and other people are giving the same items a new use. The freegle community get behind wanted posts too. I have told so many people about freegle and will continue to recommend it as a source for all sorts of things. Thank you

"Wxchanging and diverting from landfill " 2

I am an eco artist and use many different materials - metal, plastic, rubber, vinyl banners, ball chain, tents, sails and more. It has been a lifeline journey that started with using beads from necklaces to make earrings when I was at school.

"Recondition computers" 1

Before covid came along and destroyed things, I used to help in a local community library. We would accept electrical items for disposal and/or recycling. Often there was a donation of a computer or a laptop which could be refurbished. We'd refurbish them and sell them to local people who needed a cheap computer for the child's schooling. Not charge a lot of money because they couldn't afford much, but it helped towards for the library energy bill.

"A new and grateful Freegler" 2

When the charity shops couldn't take my lovely furniture because it had no fireproof labelling I turned to Freegle. It looked as though we were going to have to put it in storage to buy time, but then someone asked to have it. It's such a wonderful feeling to know that someone else is going to enjoy its comfort and good looks. Now I'm a Freegle convert and will be looking out for other things to offer when I finally move house and downsize
